Ms. Yarbrough, age 38, was diagnosed on February 9, 2024 with stage one breast cancer. During a self-routine check, Ms. Yarbrough discovered the lump and scheduled an examination with her physician. After a series of test and biopsy the diagnosis was confirmed.
Ms. Yarbrough is currently receiving treatment at the Clearview Cancer Institute, Decatur, AL campus. The chemotherapy treatment plan consists of four treatments, then followed by six weeks of radiation. First chemotherapy treatment began May 8, 2024; last scheduled treatment July 10, 2024.
Health challenges can be a difficult thing to face in life and can be most challenging during a career transition. Ms. Yarbrough started a new career prior to her diagnosis. She is experiencing challenges during this process as she is learning her position as a 911 dispatcher and undergoing treatments. She continues to display great resilience, positive attitude, and hopeful spirit, while continuing to live life and fighting this disease.
Despite the health challenges, Ms. Yarbrough is a talented makeup artist, loves to cook, and host events for friends and family. Last, but not the least, Ms. Yarbrough loves singing praises to the Lord. She is a member of her church chorus and enjoys studio recording and performing background vocals for other musical artist.
In the professional sector, Ms. Yarbrough served 20 years in personal care of the elderly, special needs, and physical disability patients in private homes and area nursing home facilities.
Ms. Yarbrough is known in the Limestone community and surrounding area for her community service and volunteer work. She is and has been an upstanding citizen.
